Long traditions
Poland has a long history of brewing beer – our breweries have been producing beer for over a thousand years now! Not only are we the third-largest beer market in Europe, but the beer industry in Poland is getting bigger and bigger every year! Check out the latest trends in this market and read more!
The beer industry in Poland nowadays
Recent Deloitte report shows that Poland hits the rankings not only as regards beer consumption (8 liters per person monthly!), but also beer production. According to the available data and in-depth market research in Poland, in 2018 over 40 mln hectolitres of beer were produced in Poland. Only the UK and Germany produce more beer per year.
Spendings and sales in the industry
Importantly, it turns out that Polish brewers also equip their companies in Poland as well. Specialists estimated that 90% of materials necessary for beer production are bought here in Poland. This generates almost 20 mln PLN of the value added to the Polish market in general. Sounds impressive? The report indicates that the beer industry provides over 150 000 jobs (including breweries themselves but also many vendor companies as well)!
Interestingly, the trends as regards our favorite drinks tend to change slowly. Instead of classic beer types typical of Polish consumers for years – lagers, pilsner, Baltic porter, or amber lagers, many of us start buying low- or non-alcohol beers.
