The growth rate of the online orders market in the order of 40-50 % annually is much larger than the growth of the entire e-commerce market. The merits of young generations brought up in the age of the Internet and modern technologies are significant.
Nearly two-thirds of all people ordering food through the Internet today are people aged between 15 and 34.
Millennials, people born after 1980, know the world without internet, but for the so-called Generations Z, modern technologies are a basic issue. It’s hard for them to imagine reality without a computer, internet, social media or smartphone. The Internet helps them in all areas of life – shopping, spending free time, dealing with friends and ordering food.Among those who have abandoned the telephone and are ordering only online, nearly one third (32%) are users aged between 15 and 24.
The next group (26%) are people aged 25-34, and the next group (24%) – aged 35-44. The least “internet” are people over 45 years of age.
It can be said that the young generation is setting a trend showing how the ordered food will be delivered in a few years.
You can also clearly see the preferences of Poles regarding payments for purchases made on the web – divided into age groups. Each of them is dominated by a quick transfer through the gates of pay by link (PayU, przelewy24 or DotPay). Representatives of the so-called Generations Z (15-24), 78% users between the ages of 25 and 34, 71 % users from the 35-49 group and 51 % users aged 50 and over. Payment in cash picks 47 % representatives of the generation Z at the similar level for three age groups (15-24, 25-34 and 35-49), the popularity of mobile payments is growing, eg. BLIK – it indicates 18, 21 and 20 % of them. Interest in mobile transactions is not shown by the oldest of the age groups – only 3% prefer it.
